This is a specialized high-school for the arts, which allowed her to not just study theater but danced too. Contractor aged 16 at the time she realized that acting was going to be her future career. Dance was her passion for a decade. She received a full-scholarship grant to pursue a degree at the University of Toronto after graduating. The university offered her master's in theatre, and also double-majored in psychology and social science. Contractor was offered the leading character in Pericles after a one-year stint in University. She auditioned for it in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and was awarded. In 2002, Canadian reviewers praised her performance in 92 productions of the play. The opportunity was presented to her to join Stratford Conservatory. It is a private institution that accepts just eight men and four woman to take a course in the art of classical theatre. Contractor was ecstatically accepted. The actress's spot in the next stage season was securing and she was chosen of Hermia.
